Athens Chapter - Focus the Nation - January 31st, 2008!

"Global Warming Solutions for America" ; "Our World, Our Future, Our Choice"

A LITTLE ABOUT US:

Focus the Nation is a national initiative that brings students and community members together with politicians. Our purpose as an Athens Chapter of this global initiative is to increase cross-disciplinary discussions about various issues surrounding global warming. We aim to bring together people from all departments and expertise in order to foster non-partisan discussions about the top five priorities we believe the national government should focus on in the 2008 elections.

In order to achieve this, we are holding an event, the Athens Teach-In, on January 31, 2008 on the UGA campus that will include lectures hosted by UGA faculty and global warming experts, round table discussions, voting booths and more! (See Athens Teach-In Agenda for full schedule of speakers and events). You can also check out the Focus the Nation national website for information about what other universities, churches, and civic organizations are doing on this day around the United States!

If you would like to become involved in planning this event, please contact us! We'll need your help as the day approaches!
